yixuan turns 21 :)

 HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY PHUAA :):) 

last saturday , i attended my 5th twenty-first birthday party of the year . & i've two more to attend this coming weekend - dearest aiai and jessie's 21st :) i'm definitely looking forward to having some fun and quality time with my friends. a much needed break from the preparation of examinations :"( the most torturous period of the year is when you have to prepare for exams .  

while the previous birthday parties were held at function rooms and hotel suites,  yixuan had hers at the cute cafe pinch of salt :) last month we were checking out J bar and some other chilling areas for a party venue but the quotation was way too high . we were quoted 8k for a limited area which wasn't worth the money in my opinion . i happened to chance about a blog review on pinch of salt and decided to recommend to her and thank god it was within budget :)  however, the venue wasn't as spacious as we've expected and a bit too pricey for the food and venue served . nevertheless i had a good catch up with old classmates whom i haven't met since graduation.

i know they really look like a couple but they are not :) yixuan's hitched to another guy!

we had a good time laughing at his outfit despite those deathly glares from him.

bittersweet

on monday , kun dropped me a bomb when i texted him after my tuition. 

i wouldn't say that the results were not expected but i'm still very shocked.

shocked at the sudden change of events and how it caught him off guard

& how a lot of plans , goals and aspirations dashed just like that. 

that's why they always say , EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. 

whatever it is, i hope he'll get out of army soon and we can start planning for the future together.

managed to catch up a lil with jeanette via text and i realised how much i've missed her

we used to talk over the phone almost every single day for the two years in JC 

and now we only talk for like once in a month or so :( 

we were reminiscing the good old days (albeit just two years back but feels so long ago)

how we would camped in front of the computer for bonitochico's launch 

we would talk about the handsome TVB actors from the hongkong drama series. 

now that both of us are so busy with school work and tuitions

we barely have time for each other .. 

actually i realised i barely have time for anyone else

felt really guilty when kun told me that he lost trust in me cos i promised to allocate time for him :(

wished everyone that i loved was in the same course as me

so i could see them almost every single day like lylayang and darach 

if only we can choose the easy way out at all times . 

hate how tuition and the mens issue is turning my world upside down :( 

tuition's not always dreadful when you have interesting kids . 

today , my primary one boy ronnie dropped his pencil so he went under the table to get it

i was too engrossed marking his work that i didn't realised he stayed under for some time

then i felt someone touching my toes...

"teacher rebecca , your toes are very dirty i help you clean "

& the innocent little boy scrapped off my glitter pedicure in black base 

told his mom and she burst out laughing . 

OMG RONNIE WHY SO CUTE?!

& the other time i was suffering from bad cramps 

the very cute lyla yang tweeted. 

"TIMES LIKE THESE REMINDS US THAT WE ARE WOMEN " 

and told us to hang in there and gave us a virtual rose. 

peeps like these keep you going, dont you agree :)

what's there not to like about CNY with the pals :) 

FIRST STOP : COLD STORAGE. 

love grocery shopping although i can't cook. 

we took so much ingredients for our barbeque & steamboat session. 

luv the bacon so much even though it's so fatterning :( 

my dearest darach needs to put on weight..

 while the boys were hard at work :) 

loved this garlic bread with smoked salmon topping :)

& the laoban styled bean curd :)

we were so shocked when jason came with a big bag of bean curd from old airport road. 

i have been wanting to try LaoBan's beancurd but the queue is insanely long

what makes it worse is that they only sell them at certain timings and i stay in the west :(

apparently this stall's standard is the closest to LaoBan's . 

i was so happy having satisfied my soya fix. thank you jason !! 

& what's CNY without gambling ?

everyone lost money except irene jun and I :)

aiai was the biggest winner walking away with 11 bucks. 

i won around 8 bucks but poor lyla lost her angpow money from mama :(

thank god we played it small by 50 cents bet. 

 jun had to leave for family dinner so he couldn't join us for our bbq :(

went busy snapping pictures with him before he left . 

& he's still single and readily available as of now... 

& the feasting begins :)

if only my family's a tad more spontaneous ..

but it's a blessing in disguise because no steamboat + bbq = no weight gain.

the only time we get an excuse to cast exam preperations aside.
apart from 21st celebrations, i'm planning a birthday surprise for a speical someone
i'm crossing my fingers that the birthday surprise will be a success.
it's my dear friend's 21st and i really want to make it special for her <3

met up with two of my precious babes this sunday :) 

i used to talk to nette over the phone every other day but uni robbed us of our quality time.

all of us are really busy with our own stuffs so it's really hard to meet up . 

what makes it worse that aussie robbed us of our girlfriend louisa 

wished we could meet like once a week or so but time isn't on our side ..

i can't wait for her to be back again !!

i haven't seen the peeps from my JC for a long long time. the last time we met was on 1st January ,  my birthday party at st' regis. everyone's so busy it's hard to fix a date to accommodate everyone. glad that most of us took time down to celebrate birthdays.  it would have been more awesome if wing could take leave from her work to join us though . had a lot of fun nevertheless :) cheers to girlfriends time 

& i brought ricoh out to play that day..

i'm so crazy and nonsensical at times but hey i bring joy and laughter to the peeps around me

but sometimes i get so annoying that they wanna punch me :0

my favourite churros from allegro @ clarke quay

i used to drag kun all the way to clarke quay just to have it 

they used to have this rewards card thingy but it's no longer valid now 

7 bucks for 12 pieces of churros served with chocolate dip. 

pretty pricey but it's worth every penny :):) 

it was my treat but the girls barely ate them so it was 90% sinful indulgence on my part.

how i wished i was one of those with high metabolism
