last 2 days of taipei

just received a call from my botak boy and i'm so glad that he's adapting (& surviving ) well in camp. i seriously can't wait to see him after eighteen days ( holy moly !! ) that would be on the 18th and we would spend a few days of quality time together before he's off to camp AGAIN. welcome to the army boy's girlfriend club. i finally understood what rach and vann's going through. weekends are so precious and strictly non working days because it's the only days they get to see their botak boys men .

it's a lil late but better late than never. spent four days at taipei :) four days of good food, sightseeing , quality time with yongkun and four NON TUITION DAYS. those times were so precious to me . when i came back from taipei, i lost all determination and diligence to head for tuitions but i'm glad that i'm back on track again. i want to see my kids do well and enrol into better schools :):) unfortunately , i have to drop some of them because i have been struggling my schedule so bad and this parent made things quite difficult for me hmmm.

third day of taipei - YEH LIU PARK
i love that place a lot . it would have been a lot better if it was so scorching hot. i thought singapore was hot but summer in taipei is a lot worse. my previous trips were mainly shopping trips so i really looked forward to sightseeing this time round. pretty surroundings, mesmerising scenery = massive camwhore time . kun's momma always bring her DSLR out so i decided to purchase my camera after the trip :)

i would have love the place a lot better if it wasn't for the weather. kun was perspiring so profusely that i have to wipe his forehead almost every other minute. i felt so sticky and uncomfortable and it didn't help that the place was far away from the hotel. after dinner, we settled for lunch at this nice seafood restaurant . the food's so awesome and that explains why i came back with a rounder face .

the juicy honey peaches which we brought back ! this is the first time ever that i actually brought fruits back ( under the encouragement of kun's momma ) i was rather reluctant to at first since it's quite bulky but it was too tasty and juicy to be missed. i wanted mom and bro to try them so i bought a carton of 5 back . the taxi driver actually stopped by the road to let us purchase the fruits. fyi, it is a makeshift stall right in the middle of nowhere . like a fruit stall just next to a long stretch of highway. i was appalled .

after which we went to jiufen ! it's not a place meant for apparel shopping but more of home grown food and snacks. there were so many stalls selling pineapple tarts , mochi and many other xiao chi . wo ai tai wan xiao chi ! :) competition is pretty intense over there. the peeps tending the store will persuade you to try their products and offer to throw your litter ( there are hardly any bins around and people have to carry their rubbish so this is like a personal service extended to you , hoping you would buy ) the people are really friendly though. like if you dont buy they wont curse and swear at you like in hongkong. they are ready to help you with directions and all. speaking of which, there were so many stalls and we tried sooo many pineapple tarts, mochi and etc till we were damn full.

after jiufen , we headed to this temple which is supposedly famous . i'm not too sure but i was just following the adults.

yong kun's dad with the super nice taxi driver with superb customer service. he brought us around at a minimal fee and politely declined to have a meal with us. he even loan us his spare phone so that we could contact him as and when we are done with that particular stop. got off the taxi to make sure that the fruit stall holders dont exploit us with the prices. when we got off the car, he will take the trouble to take the fruits from the boot to put them in the car to cool. when we come back to the vehicle, he would hurriedly take the cartons of fruits to the boot to make space for us. he did it 3-4 times and we were really touched by his service.

mangoes ! my favourite fruit amongst them all.
love the fruits over there. they are so fresh and juicy .
